FEB UNPAD Takes a Strategic Step Towards AACSB Accreditation with Visit from AACSB Mentor

Jatinangor, May 19, 2025 – Bandung, May 20, 2025
The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Padjadjaran (FEB UNPAD), recently hosted a key milestone event in its journey towards achieving international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The faculty welcomed Dr. Ross James, the official AACSB mentor from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, for a comprehensive two-day visit.

Held across the Jatinangor and Bandung campuses, the mentor visit on May 19–20, 2025, included a series of strategic meetings, discussions, and site visits. The primary aim was to evaluate FEB UNPAD’s alignment with AACSB standards and to refine the development of its Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER).

The first day began at the Jatinangor campus with a meeting between Dr. Ross and key university leaders, including the Rector, Vice Rectors, Directors, the Quality Assurance Unit, and the Strategic Development and University Reputation Unit. This was followed by an in-depth session with the Dean, Vice Deans, Heads of Study Programs, Unit Managers, and the AACSB Core Team to discuss AACSB’s guiding principles, faculty programs, and strategic scope.

The visit continued with focused sessions on Strategic Management and Innovation, particularly concerning the school’s mission, resource alignment, and faculty development. Dr. Ross also toured undergraduate teaching facilities and engaged in a dialogue with students to gain first-hand insights into their learning experience.

The second day took place at FEB UNPAD’s postgraduate campuses in Bandung, where Dr. Ross toured classrooms and interacted with postgraduate students. Discussions centered on Learner Success, including learner progression and teaching effectiveness, as well as Thought Leadership, Engagement, and Innovation, addressing the impact of scholarship and community engagement.

The visit concluded with a comprehensive feedback session from Dr. Ross, reviewing the progress of the iSER and finalizing key timelines and targets for the next phases of the accreditation process.

This mentor visit reaffirmed FEB UNPAD’s strong commitment to continuous improvement in education quality, impactful research, and community engagement—strengthening its aspiration to be recognized as a globally competitive business school.
