Peer Review Visit 2024 at Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Padjadjaran

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Padjadjaran, hosted a Peer Review Visit 2024 on October 2nd and 3rd, 2024, as part of the ongoing accreditation process by ABEST21 (The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, a 21st Century Organization). The visit aimed to evaluate the faculty’s academic programs, research capabilities, and educational infrastructure, ensuring its adherence to international standards.

The Peer Review Team (PRT) was led by Professor Emeritus Dr. ITOH Fumio, President and CEO of ABEST21 International, and included distinguished academics from various countries. The team conducted interviews with faculty management, department heads, students, alumni, and administrative staff, engaging in a thorough assessment of the faculty’s quality improvement efforts and learning outcomes.

The key areas of focus during the visit were:

  • Strategic Support: Interviews with the Rector and Vice Rectors reviewed the institutional support for achieving the faculty’s educational and research objectives.
  • Academic Unit Assessment: Discussions with the Dean and Vice Dean centered around clarifying issues raised in the Self-Check Report (SCR) and understanding the overall direction of the faculty.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Faculty members, students, alumni, and administrative staff were consulted to gather diverse perspectives on the school’s commitment to quality improvement.
  • Infrastructure Review: The PRT examined the research and educational infrastructure to ensure alignment with the faculty’s strategic goals.

The PRT was divided into groups reviewing the Economics, Management, and Accounting programs. Notable members of the team included:

  • Economics Program:
    • Leader: Professor Dr. Zulkornain bin Yusop, Advisor (Accreditation), ABEST21 International.
    • Member: Dr. Arlinah Binti Abdul Rashid, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.
  • Management Program:
    • Leader: Dr. Zabeda Binti Abdul Hamid, International Islamic University Malaysia.
    • Members: Professor YOSHIDA Nobuya, SBI Graduate School, Japan; and Associate Professor Arief Wibisono Lubis, Ph.D., Universitas Indonesia.
  • Accounting Program:
    • Leader: Professor Mohd Ridzuan Darun, Ph.D., Institute of the Pacific United, New Zealand.
    • Member: Associate Professor Dr. Fathyah Binti Hashim, Dean, Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

The visit also featured administrative coordination led by NAKAGAWA Yuka from ABEST21 International.

The Peer Review Visit was a critical step in the accreditation process, and the feedback provided by the PRT will guide the faculty in its ongoing efforts to improve academic quality. The PRT’s recommendations aim to further enhance the faculty’s programs and ensure that Universitas Padjadjaran remains a leader in business education, both nationally and internationally.
